No I can't the last time I tried was in a Chinese restaurant with a big group, one of the group who was pretty old and really cheesy and likes to be a bit of a show off, had just started going out with a Chinese lady (god knows what she saw in him) and her mother was there who couldn't speak a word of English, anyway he got down in front of everyone on one knee and proposed. There were a few other tables in the room and everyone just stopped, it wasn't the right time at all, and it wasn't romantic like you see in films, I cringed and of course was trying to eat with chopsticks which I have always found difficult, so I've haven't tried again after that I gave in. Can you use them?

Yes, I can. My friends can't use chopsticks at all. She needs to use a spoon or something to eat with.

No. >.<
I tried using chopsticks at a chinese restaurant last month, and I went to take a bite of this lil piece of chicken, and my friend wanted me to use the chopsticks, so I tried it and needless to say, the lil piece of chicken went flying.

Yes. In fact in a chinese restaurant I practically insist!
I was never able to do it when I was younger but I went to China when I was about 19 and I didn't have a choice at times - every time I asked for a fork, they looked at me blankly. Since then I've been fine.

Yes I learnt when I was about 17. I started working in the music business and often went out to eat at chinese or japanese restaurants. I had to learn. Also, one of my sister in laws in chinese so we always use them at her house.
