Start by talking with his daughter & see how she feels about you wanting to be with her father. If she has no problem with it, then try talking to the father & see how he feels about a relationship with you. But remember he was married twice before & it may take him some time before he wants another relationship. All you can do is try, Good Luck

I would talk to the daughter first, see how she feels. There's a common conception about kids not liking the idea of someone replacing mummy, but if you get on well with her its usually a good step.
However, having known each other for 4 years without making any advances, he may now only see you as a friend and therefore may not be interested.
You'll have to play it by ear.

Edit: With regards to the above postee, where does it say about she being married?

The ground is as only as soft as you water it ... nourishment will keep it healthy. A little fertilizer and a lot of love you'll do just fine !

It depends on how much trouble the ex wife gives him. Sometimes those things can work out good, other times they become a thorn in your side.

I guess I would need to know more about you to answer this question... like how old are you and are you ready for a relationship with a child involved?
