Likely the earth would be completely covered with water (much of which likely was supplied by comets) except that tectonic plate movements thrust up mountains above sea level and erosion of the mountains spread out as great plains.

They Were In Their Elemental Forms I Guess

Why do you think comets brought water to earth - except in minute quantities?

Besides how much water do think there is on earth? Not enough?
If all the landmass were flattened out - filling in the ocean trenches - then the surface of the earth would be covered in water to a depth of 1.7 miles !

I may not remember this in the correct order but as far as i understand it - The earth a moon collided, from collision earth became big hot ball of magma, then comets pounded the earth, and they brought protein(which later helped to start life), then atmosphere formed along with clouds which rained hot acid rain for ages, which eventually cooled and formed oceans in the craters that the comets made. As the earth cooled the the magma cooled and hardened to rock, and eventually greenery started to grow..... I think, I saw a fantastic documentary a few years ago which explained all this in simple language is was called something like 'the day earth began'.

I've never heard that comets brought water to Earth, where did you get that snippet from? I doubt it very much.

As Allan mentioned, it is not unusual to see comets that consist largely of ice. If the comet hits the earth, all that water comes to our planet in the form of water vapor.

They didn't. Water is the end result in the chemical reactions between elemental hydrogen and oxides emitted by volcanism.
Comets may have provided up to 0.00000001% of Earths water, but even that is optimistic.
