WOW I was going to say tell him how you feel but then I read the bit when it said that you have a girlfriend.
Well I would just tell him how you feel and say even though you have got a girlfriend you still care for this girl and look out for her and you dont want her to get hurt!

don't give him the number looks like you still have feelings for her if not move on with your new g/f no mate should ask for an ex's number.
