Basics of No limit Hold em Poker?

I just learned the game. Can someone give me some basic tips

At a basic level - if you are dealt two suited cards, two picture cards, any pair, or two consecutive cards (ie 6,7) you should probably call. Premium hands worth raising are AA, KK, AK, QQ, JJ, and any combination of those of the same suit. It really takes practise - just play free chips on the net for a while.

The more players there are in the game, the better the cards you need to bet. When it gets head-to-head, you can generally bet with worse cards than when it's seven-handed; simply because the more players you are up against, the greater the probability that one of them has better cards than you.

Playing timid and then suddenly becoming aggressive is a common n00b mistake. If everyone knows that you just made a good hand, they will quietly drop out of the pot (and thus, most of the chips you win will be the ones you put there).

If you have very good cards and a good position, don't be afraid to go all-in. When you're not short-stacked and desperate, it's a highly aggressive move that can frighten other players into folding.

If you're going to bluff, at least try to be convincing. Remember, the other players can see at least three of the cards in "your" hand. Three suited cards on the table could give you a flush. Three cards close to one another -- say, 89J -- could give you a straight. If there's a pair on the table, you could have the third to make a prial -- or maybe even a match for another card, giving you a full house.

And finally: There's always a fool at every card table. If you haven't spotted the fool within 30 minutes, it's probably you.
