Oxytocin is the 'love' hormone in the body which produces feelings of attachment and care. If the pathways are not properly developed, there can be severe consequences. As a neglected and abused child, I believe the only way I was able to keep some semblance of an oxytocin pathway open within was through the love of my kitties. I just thank God Almighty that I had an animal to love on, or I might have ended up lost!! The cat I have now is my absolute best friend and sleeps with his little nose nuzzled in my neck! My pets have not only meant comfort and companionship, but I believe in the ultimate scheme of things, literally life and love savers.

i dont have kids so ill say my little joys are my animals. my german shepard winnie. my 3 cats reese, bear, and jose. but the true little joys are waking up next to my boyfriend every morning. gotta love coffee and mountain dew. gotta love that cigarette i just put out. humm.. like my job sometimes lol. another small joy is when my car starts every morning lol. its kinda nice having a warm roof over my head and food in the cabinets when i come home. when theres beer in the fridge after work that becomes a big joy lol. i could go on and on not just two or three..

Last week i bought one of my friends a couple of small presents for giving me a lift to work and when i saw the shock and appreciation on her face it brought a smile to my face all day. I also love the way that when I'm feeling poorly (which i have been recently as I've got tonsillitis) my dog knows I'm ill and lays next to me all day like he's protecting me.

Soft, fluffy snowflakes ... that don't melt in your hand right away, and you're able to catch a glimpse of their abstract beauty.
My fiance snugglin' with me on the couch, and feedin' me popcorn.
My 5&6 y/o sons making me peanut butter sandwiches for supper, when I wasn't feeling well, and on the tray were two lil' dandilions in a vase. :)
When my two puppies are sooo happy to see me, they can hardly contain themselves.
Isn't life precious?!! *sigh* :)

1. Seeing little kitties run
2. Receiving a present from someone you least expect that would give you a present
Sorry that's all I could think of for the moment.

When my husband does things just because. (the dishes, bringing flowers or just texts me to say i love you).
Hearing from a friend that I don't talk to as often as others.
Hearing a great song that encourages my heart and soul.
