Security updates downloads fails to install?

I keep getting prompt upates are ready for your computer but fails to install.
I cant understand the download size is 0kb and connection speed is 0 minutes, how is it possible.
My second why is it on this site the language occasionally changes language to chinese at random, I press the back button and resumes in English. This is making me very nervious because I once had my PC raiderd from an email sent to me in a chinese languge resulting loosing every page I was working on.

Sounds to me like you might have an Internet Explorer trojan. I assume that you're expecting Windows Updates to download? By default Windows Updates are in English, not Chinese. So chances are you have a trojan or a piece of Spyware infecting your PC.

The best thing to do to get rid of such stuff is to do an online scan of your PC. The best scans I can recommend are: Xscan/Xblock (http://www.spywareinfo.com/xscan.php) and Pandasoftware ActiveScan (http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/activescan/navegador.asp?IdLang=2&Idvendor=17490&Idpais=63)

Download a program called WinsockXPFix (http://kadusa.com/winsockxpfix/) just in case it removes the Trojan and you can't get back on the Internet. This program restores your Internet settings again!

Panda Scan takes a while to scan totally, so just be patient and do something else whilst you are waiting for it to finish.

Put AVG AntiSpyware on your PC as well, to try and prevent any more nasty Spyware from infecting your PC. Go to: http://free.grisoft.com for that and AVG AntiVirus.

Everything possible is wrong about Microsoft. I run Windows XP Pro., and you pay for swiss cheese. A CD, with nothing but security holes in the CD.

I had the same problem. All of my 88 or so security updates said, "downloaded and ready for installation". Would not installl. When I went to Windows Updates, and tried to download and install every update, I just reinstalled my platform, I only see, "download size is 0kb and connection speed is 0 minutes".

I have one of the very best antivirus programs in the world that is used by the Govt. Of China. http://www.filseclab.com and I have no viruses, or spyware as I am required by law to keep my pc clean.

Here is how I resolved the problem of installing the updates. (I have no viruses, an I ran http://housecall65.trendmicro.com/
because after the complete scan, showing zero viruses, their server will show all 88 missing updates and directs you to each download one by one from a different Microsoft server.

I have ADSL, and only an update for wifi, will not install, as it says downloaded and ready for installation. Still get the same Microsoft garbage.

I have received the usual answers from Microsoft, "unable to resolve the problem". Par for the course with Microsoft.

Here is the hardware update that I am unable to install for the reasons above, says downloaded and ready to install, but 0 size is 0kb minutes 0.
