I am usually a very happy person, never prone to depression or misery but when I have been out drinking, the next day I start having really miserable thoughts and feel really low. The day after that I am back to normal again.

Anyone else get this?

Drinking usually causes dehydration and dehydration causes a person to feel terrible. That's usually the reason for a hangover. Muscle cramps, headache, no energy, etc. Drink lots of fruit juices and rehydrate quickly. Hey, pal - don't drink so much that is makes you feel miserable and low!! An oz. of liquor an hour is sufficient without getting into trouble with it. Just take the drinking slow, socialize, have a good time, and feel better the next day!!

That's because alcohol is a depressive drug.

After the initial high during drinking, the alcohol toxins cause the resulting hang-over.

Maybe you should read up on what drinking really does to your body some more.

don't get me wrong I am not anti-drink, but, like all things it should be done in moderation.

Worse thing to do is to develop a Drink - Depression - more drink to cheer up cycle, this inevitably leads to alcoholism and believe me no matter how good we think we can control it, the alcohol is a sly friend it can and will take over a persons life.

Yeah alcohol is a major depressant, that's why people get hooked on booze, because they hate having hangovers and the only way out of a hangover is to drink more. I hate hangovers, I used to be a machine when it came to drinkin, I'd be fine the next day, now I'm ill for a couple of days after.

Personally, I've never indulged myself with this habit / past-time / tradition or whatever, but have known a few people (both sexes) who have and would say, that on the whole, your experience is not either new nor unique.

Never having enjoyed the taste of the beverages available in the circumstances associated with this scenario, nor the outcomes, I personally really cannot see the point in joining in with any of it.

[ I'm not a killjoy either. ]

I trust my answer helps you in some small fashion!

Regards.
Sash.

Alcohol is a depressant, so your feelings are normal. Perhaps you should cut down on how much you drink? Just a thought.

Being under-aged to drink I have never had this feeling but alcohol is a mood altering depressant drug. The alcohol slows your brain down.

Yes, a lot of people do... I don't normally get depressed but feel dirty when I have had too much to drink...

Drink lots of fruit juice and get some fresh air... I'm sure you'll feel better soon!

It's probably just because the drinking makes you feel groggy. This has never happened to me before, but I'd suggest that you should only drink a certain amount.
