Well I wouldn't know yet. I'm 21 and have been married for 2 1/2 years and have been with my husband for 5 years. We have a 9 1/2 month old son. My husband is 22. So of course we're young, not very young, but people still look at us as if we're 16 and wound up having a baby because we were unresponsible, when infact we're happily married , own our home, and have a close family. It's hard to be misjudged, but hopefully someday it'll pass!

It was hard when kids first start calling you 'Mister' instead of 'Mate'. I feel like I am treated older, not neccessarily with more respect. But then again you have to earn respect, people don't have to respect you just because you are older.

Not if you're over 50 and walk with a stick. Then you become invisible to others, although a small minority will show respect.

yea. most of the time when we're younger we don't usually respect the elders because of our mindset. when we were younger, our brain was not fully developed so we tend to think more differently than adults. our point of view was more different than adults in the society when we're younger. so, that's the reason why.

You are right. I think it's because as you get older, you care less and less about impressing people and their opinions about you.
You start living according to your morals and values and aren't as easily swayed. Also, with life experience, you know that answers to questions because you've actually lived through it.
