Is this a trick question?

Didn't the United States fly in tons and tons of food and fuel to help the German people?

Don't you think the answer would be "D"?

Idiot the Russians got upset with the united states, not east Germany

None of these answers are right. The Russians, during the "cold war" decided to cut off Berlin from the rest of the world. They put an embargo on Berlin during one of the coldest winters on record. Berliners could get neither food, medicine or much needed coal into the city, the Russians cut them off and threatened war if anyone tried to come across the Berlin highways.

The United States, using it's massive bomber force from WW2 started airlifting food, coal and medical products into Berlin, saving the day and showing up the Russians. Thousands of plane loads of goods went to Berlin that winter, showing the Russians that democracy would prevail.

No way is the answer D. East Germany got even more pissed at the US because we were able to get food and supplies into West Berlin. So stick an "East" before Germany in B.
