For a very long while now I've pretty much had a bad sleeping pattern, as in I go to bed in the morning and wake up in the afternoon. only when I had a routine(like going to college) have I had a good pattern, or the days I forced myself to get up.. Even then I kept wanting to sleep late..when I finally do get in bed I just keep thinking and can't sleep. Sometimes I'm in bed just thinking about things for hours, and feeling like I should be doing something instead..

I've had it really bad last few weeks, so I'm trying to fix it now. Gonna try staying awake all day.

Why am I like this? What can improve this? Its not just the sleeping pattern, even when I'm tired I can't sleep..(unless I'm really really really tired)

I usualy need 8-9 hours sleep too, and the less sleep I've had the night before the more I need later.

I love waking up in the morning so wish I can easily sleep when I want to(I envy those that can sleep when they want to), I always feel pretty down when I wake up late.

I swear...that describes me exactly!!! I don't get to sleep till like 7 or 8 am even if I want to sleep. The earliest is like 5 or 6. And I'm always thinking of things and feeling like I "should" be doing something. The only time I have a normal sleep pattern is when I have school or work.

I swear your entire post has taken the words out of my mouth. If you find the answer please let me know.

Some of the things you describe are symptoms of depression. Perhaps you should talk to a professional who can evaluate your situation and make recommendations.
