He's definitely the right Heismann winner. The award is supposed to go to "the best football player" in the country, and Tebow is in fact, "the best football player" in the country.
He did what he did as a sophomore in the toughest football conference in the country.
About halfway through the season I said Tebow SHOULD definitely win the Heismann (provided he kept going the way he was going), but I also "predicted" that he wouldn't because he IS a sophomore...
But I changed my mind when I heard a couple of writers with votes say they were leaning toward Tebow... this was probably about a month ago... Writers love to see "firsts"... and they like to think they are part of the story... twenty years ago, Tebow wouldn't have won it, even with the season he had... but because the mentality of sportswriters has changed (since ESPN went on the air), and they all want to say "I was there when...", then I said "we're going to see a lot of votes for Tebow from voters who never voted for a sophomore before...".
Tebow was a deserving winner, he was definitely the best football player in the country this year, and again, he accomplished what he did in the toughest conference in the country.
I do feel bad for Brennan and Hawaii though... regardless of what anyone says about their schedule, the fact is, they've been TRYING to set up games with mainland "powers" like Michigan for a long time, but teams refuse to play them... Hawaii knows that the first step in BEATING National "powers" is to first get them on your schedule...
Of course, they'll get to play a national power in their bowl game against Oklahoma...IF they win that game, it'll go a long way toward earning them some credibility.
King Midas - really? Do the teams that you listed constitute Florida's ENTIRE schedule? Seems like you left a few teams out, but I could be wrong.
Who did Brennen play against, again, I forgot?

Ha! King Midas, you're an idiot! Please dont' argue strength of schedule against the other Heisman candidates, because Florida has played more ranked opponents than any of the other Heisman candidates. Even still, the Heisman isn't a team award but an individual award. I believe Tebow was the right one to win it, although McFadden was very deserving as well. I would give more of a description why the right choice was made, but I have done that too much on this issue. King Midas you know absolutely nothing and show it very loudly.

Probably not.. I think McFadden is more deserving, He single handedly carry Arkansas team on his shoulder, and he's more valuable to the team than Tebow is.. The reason why Tim Tebow won is that He played for Florida.. So there is a Florida factor, behind heisman voting also.. cause players from this states got more press recognition than the one from smaller states and from the west coast states..

yes he was. he did something that no other player in football history has done, and he was responsible for 51 touchdowns this year for florida. yes he was very deserving of the heisman. and midas, you forgot to mention that tebow also put up those numbers against the likes of lsu, tennessee, georgia, kentucky, florida state and auburn. who did brennan play against??? boise state and who else???? an dfor all those out there that say that brennan got the shaft, well play someone other than the blind school from the west coast and then we'll talk.

Tebow did things as a sophmore that Juniors and Seniors dream of doing. What is going to be his encore? All we can do is wait and see, but because of the year he had, he was the top candidate, and I fully accept the fact that he won. If he puts up better numbers the next year over the other candidates, then I hope he wins again....then again. If he sucks his next two years, then we know he had one heck of a sophmore outing, and deservedly won for that year. The Heisman is not a career thing like the Hall of Fame, it is who produced for that year. Of course not everyone is going to agree that he had the best outing, but it is hard to argue that he did not.

no, Colt Brennan got screwed yet again. It is amazing how everyone can talk about how great he is but his numbers came against Troy State, Western Kentucky, Florida Atlantic, Mississippi, and Vanderbilt.

I thought he deserved it, and Mcfadden was the next best, but I thought Michael Crabtree and Graham Harrell out of Texas Tech got robbed by neither of them being invited to NY.
