I do not believe it works anymore and the major reason is the electoral college. Bush stole the first election by having his brother denying black voters in Florida the chance to vote, and Florida carried enough Electoral votes to give it to him
Gore won the popular vote, so most of American said Gore, but Bush won... He cheated to get the electoral votes to do it.
So let me say this, when you have a system that say "OK, this guy got more votes, but that guys wins" you have a broken system. It is like saying "You don't know what you want... so you get this".
The electoral system had a place, a long time ago but it does not anymore. It is outdated and antiquated.
I like Ron Paul, I think the country needs to be run as the Constitution says and stop letting the Government take powers it was never supposed to have.

I totally agree with you on everything in fact I posted an identical question last month.
I too plan to leave in the next 2 years If I see no change no REAL ID for me and I prefer to really own a house if I buy one not one the GOV can take away fortunately I have someplace I can go do that.
But before I leave I will vote for Paul no matter what I know the voting system is corrupted but if it should happen that the movement gets big enough Ron Paul supporters are too passionate to walk away. Many of us realize this is Americas last hope and there still some patriots left who will not lay down without a fight including myself.
People often say "how is everything affecting you directly "
*Currently we are all force medicated with poisonous fluoride
every day in our water
* Children are forced to take deadly vaccines to to school including myself and my child
* I am not free to bear arms without harassment
and I have no police record
* I cannot purchase land with a real Title
* My Internet is monitored and not private
and more I cant think of at the moment
here is a video about fluoride

I do believe in the process.
As for Ron Paul, he DOESN'T believe in the process. How can I say such heresy? Simple.
Before the Iowa Straw Poll, Ron Paul people tried to stop the vote. It wasn't until the Friday before the event that a judge threw the case out and allowed the vote to go on. Now, I would like to remind those who may have forgotten, the vote in the Iowa Straw Poll is a non-binding vote of support at an Iowa Republican Party fund raiser. It means absolutely nothing, nothing at all. Then his drones got on the web and started their crap. They whined about Romney bringing buses of people for the event. Well, there's nothing illegal about that. Then they complained about the voting procedure. Well, the Iowa Republican Party clearly stated BEFORE the event that to vote there, you needed either an Iowa driver's license, or a military ID card. If you don't have one of those, you aren't voting. But, the Ron Paul drones complained about people being turned away from the polls. AT A FUNDRAISER WHERE THE RULES WERE CLEARLY STATED FOR A VOTE THAT MEANS NOTHING!!!! Then came the voting irregularities. Well, according to their own polls, Ron Paul won the event. But, one machine had problems, and that ended up with, what would appear to be thousands of Ron Paul votes. In actuality, there was one of the 12 machines that had a problem, and the votes had to be counted by hand. Who was doing the vote counting? Some media organization trying to keep down Ron Paul? The Iowa Republican Party trying to suppress Ron Paul's message to keep the status quo? Nope. The Story County election officials. The same people who do the REAL voting procedure here in Story County.

The Media "pre-selects" the candidate whom they wish to run the country by manipulating coverage of all the events and fundraisers long before the "official" campaign season starts. They choose to run free coverage of those they endorse, and refuse coverage of those they deem "not serious contenders". I deduced this from many years of watching all the media coverage of events during the "pre-campaign" season. I have been correct about 90% of the time. (I thought Bill would lose.)
I have some bad news for some of you, and some good news for some of you: Hillary Clinton was the person I noticed was "pre-selected" by certain groups with a progressive and liberal agenda, more than a year ago. She was then deemed "most electable" and should receive the bulk of campaign donations to various PACs. I didn't make this decision, but that's the way it looks from here...

that is a very well balanced argument. I agree that the media has a large finger on what is and isn't to the US citizens. Money also plays a huge factor... corruption is a root of evil and it is sad to see that corruption is easier to accomplish than respect. Hard to imagine that at one time, mainly when the constitution was written, there was respect. a fight to be one of our own and not governed by lord that lives 3000 miles away. Times change, people change, politics (fortunately or unfortunately) will change, and for better or worse..? keep voting and let your voice be heard. one voice is better not sitting back and saying nothing at all. As for the process itself, never use a computer... submit your vote through hard-copy.

I believe that the election is already decided before we vote. Obviously, if the man doesn't like who we vote for, he just takes it anyway. I'm not the smartest person ever, but I know what I see happen before my eyes.

Computer voting can be manipulated to either side to give/take votes. It has been proven and reported on quite a few times.

Interesting the way Ron paul fans are getting ready for a dismal showing by blaming the media and saying the elections are fixed.
Paul gets way more attention than his following deserves. If he cannot sell his message that is his problem - not the media's.
