Yeah I've seen it a billion times that Sony loses money for each PS3 unit produced, but I highly doubt the retailers do. So does anyone actually know how much the retailers are getting the PS3?

That's a pretty interesting question. I think that retailers buy the PS3's for about the same price that they are sold, and they make the majority of their money in taxes.

I know that when the 20GB & 80GB PS3's first came out, they cost Sony over $800 dollars each to produce. The costs of producing the PS3's have been gone down since then, but Sony still looses money on the PS3's.

stores make only a few $ from each sale- seriously there is not a lot of gross margin on consoles
