Because I thought she just wanted me for the sex. I mean really what would a 22 yo girl want with a 34 yo guy. But there it was, it was out there and I could tell she wanted me to say it back. I was very careful this time to shelter my heart so I wouldn't get hurt again. So i didn't know how I felt. I mean she was hot and sweet, but not so smart. It wasn't fair because I wanted a couple or few days to think. So she left and became a stripper and got into drugs and BJs for money and I realized too late that I did love her, but I didn't want a stripper around my kids. It's one of the few things I wish I could change about my life because i realize how happy I was with her and with a little grooming she would have been a great, beautiful and respectable wife...sigh :*(

I am a guy and I would be crazy to slap a girl if she says that she loves me. the reasons are simple :
1. It is not chivalrous to slap a woman.
2. Who knows ...she might be the princess I have been waiting all my life !!
3. Even if I don't love her and she insists she does , I can always tell her politely that I am involved with some other girl . ( I know most women won't say " I love you " just to hop into bed with me or with ulterior motives )

It's all in the timing. If they know they're about to be sent to the doghouse, and they say "I love you" it has to sound insincere.
If they say it when you're being charming and personable, it's got to sound more sincere.
If they say it when you're in a crabby mood and you know you've made them mad, but they say it anyway, that's the best one, even if you have to hear it while they're walking out of the room because they can't stand to be around you for a while.
The one you don't deserve is the sweetest-sounding "I love you" :)

yes....too many guys lie ....you can't say I love you and it means something....guys need to treat a girl well and show her real love...not say it and it means nothing...
...thought it was great what you said....some guys I have known really need someone to do that to them....so they stop treating girls badly....one guy I even told him he really needed to stop being so negative because that is why all the girls broke up with him....but he was too full of himself ....kept saying it was always the girls problem...but he was the problem.
