The Lord of the Rings trilogy.
It's really hard to just give only 3 reasons why, but I'll do my best, lol.
1. Unique settings/characters.
2. A great story line.
3. Over all just really good movies/books.

* It has some comic moments.
* Give us a reason to believe in ourselves.
* Most of all it made me cry. Truly one action, reality, tear-jerker and human touching/moving kind of a movie.
