Are you using a PC or a Mac?

If you are using a PC, save your work and close Illustrator. There should be a folder in C:\Windows\Fonts (where C: is the drive you have windows installed on); copy your fonts there.

Start up Illustrator after the copy, and they should be in the list.

On a Mac the process is similar, I just do not know the path to the Fonts folder.

Just move the fonts to the file/folder where all your computer's fonts are located.

ALL the font's will be available to all the applications that use fonts, including Illustrator, Word, Photoshop, etc.

If you're using a Mac, open your applications folder, and then open Font Book. Choose File > Add Fonts, and bam! It's done.
