If they walked around in public wearing druid robes?
I always get the strangest looks from people when I go for the Darth Sidious look.

I may giggle a little, but I am married to a Star Wars nerd, so I am use to it by now. Most people just aren't though. Paint yourself up like Maul and then see the looks you get.
