I use to be a hypocrit and continue to shop there. I can't anymore, I can't wait 20 minutes in line in order to buy this toothbrush. Oh ya, and the self-checkouts are all broken. And there's a retarded woman standing in the doorway greeting me. Oh, and did I mention the white trash woman over by the deli beating her child at 10pm because he's crying because he's normally asleep at this time. Did I mention the grotesque efforvesence coming off the frozen meat aisle? I just vomitted into my mouth and then I had to swallow it. I shop at Meijer now.

Excellent questions, especially since Wal-Mart is in the highlight of some journalistic questioning. Recently, I watched a superb documentary where the CEO, Lee scott, was interviewed. I forget who the journalist was, but he didn't spare any "shots." At the end of the program, you couldn't help but be impressed. Wal-Mart, as you know, targets the "mass money spender" rather than the high end income generator (the rich people). Therefore, its customers will be those of low to middle income and having seen a few Mercedes and even a Jaguar coasting up for parking in front of the doors of this retail giant, I would guess those with a little more cash than the rest of us like the bargains at this store too. So yes you do hear a lot of "I hate Wal-Mart" and yet the retail giant continues to gain in revenue. I like Wal-Mart. I must admit that some of the clientele it attracts, I do not like. I also do not like some of the "less than savvy" associates many of them hire. Although they are all trained, some of them just don't get the importance of customer service. Whether we want to admit it or not, this is a problem in all facets of retail, no matter the company. This is due to the wage "generator" where you get what you pay for. The appeal of Wal-Mart, as many have written here, is the low prices. Also, Wal-Mart has an array of products that some of the other department stores do not carry. For example, I am a crafter and believe it or not, Wal-Mart has honed in on the right kind of crafts someone of my hobby expertise needs and at a price that is out of this real. I found one product at a fabric store that also has a huge variety of crafts and Wal-Mart was 55% cheaper. Because of this, I tend to shop there for my regular household goods (i.e., toilet tissue, cleaning supplies, etc.). Not all of their products are of good quality (i.e., bed linen, etc.) so I do not purchase those things but on the whole, will shop there for a bargain. So even though I am not always greeted properly (I love the greeters, its nice to be "welcomed") and the clerk is standing there complaining that she hasn't had a break, I will still go because I want to save money. Yes, sometimes the hassle is worth the dollar I saved. Wal-Mart is the "Bill Gates" of the retail world. I feel sorry for the Mom and Pop stores but other stores have pushed them out too; its just a matter of business this day and age. In all of its frustration and sometimes not so happy times (especially during the holidays), I still love Wal-Mart.

I have no reason to hate WalMart and shop there often and will continue to do so. Someone on a limited budget isn`t too concerned where the product was made or by whom, when their main concern is feeding and clothing their own family first and at the best prices possible. Not everyone can afford to shop Bloomingdale`s, or a local gourmet grocery store.Do u hate McDonalds, they too have taken over the world with their fat laden high calorie foods ??

Yea, but they have almost everything we need all in one place at decent prices. It probably hurts for all the independently owned stores in a city when they put a wal-mart there but if if they are gonna sell me a t.v. for $20-30 less than the electronics shop down town then yea I'm gonna go to walmart

Yeah,...I dread going there,...but I know that I will be able to afford everything on my shopping list if I go....my walmart seems to be very ghetto ...the workers look like drug abusers etc....it is always so packed...what I dislike the most about walmart is that it cuts out the possibility of small mom and pop stores to flourish...but yet I still shop there....maybe I am a hypocrite

Yes, Yes, Yes. (Banging Head On Wall!!!)

Live in a town of ~1300 people.
The nearest Wal-Mart is 30 miles away.
No K-Mart, No Target, No Mall, No Much of Anything!!!
I find the best prices on most items.
They do match "ad" prices from other stores.

Do I hate what wal-mart really is? By that do you mean a result of inventive thinking and cost-cutting measures? Then, no.

Do I shop there? Yes.

uh, no i'm not THAT 2 faced...I know how to passively boycott...all you have to do is not shop there...they're not just WMT, they're Government subsadized to keep unemployment lower...ever noticed how the employees are completely unnecessary, and have trouble telling a fork from a clock radio?
