lol, it's all marketing, make it a once in awhile thing, and it drives up want, by using scarcity. The less it is around the more ppl will want it when it comes back. Like the Eggnog milkshake, is only around x-mas. (people will want it more around Christmas, than if they had it all year round.

I love McRibs, But that the point, by having at a limited time or special sandwich, the can artificially increase sales and demand

That said i would love to see it as a everyday item

if they make it permanet menu items they would not sell as much. people would get tired of them. by bringing them out every 6 months or so.

it creates an illusion of demand. also the mcrib is a novelty sandwich. its kind of like anchovies on pizza. you dont want to eat them all the time. but about once every 4-6 months anchovies on pizza is really good. the same logic applies to the mcrib

I worked at McDonald's personally...

I asked the same question, and they told me because its the cost of that fake pork. Surprisingly its not CHEAP. And as everyone knows McDonalds loves cheap things.

So they can buy it in bulk and sell it even cheaper to get more of a profit. And once again it does make it look like they're so IN DEMAND. When in reality I think people are just becoming super annoyed by it coming out every once in while.

they're bringing it back national on November 2d. it is going to in all risk in basic terms final 4-6 weeks, so i desire to advise making an investment in a vaccuum sealer and an rather vast freezer. your persons would be large jealous once you're breaking out sparkling McRibbbs next summer season.

Not sure if it is true or an urban myth, but I heard a long time ago that they use too much pork and there is not enough supply for the McRibb to be offered at all times.

Sounds possible, but not likely.

Isn't that mainly a summertime treat/delight?

I have an idea! To hold you over until summer, McDonald's should introduce the "McJoe (sloppy joe)".

It is the Girls' Scouts' Cookies Marketing strategy- only offer it once a year and people will order it a lot.

I'm sure it's all about the marketing. When it's around it drives up sales. . .Although, I'm in New England, and I don't remember the last time it was available around here.

I think that they do so in order to increase demand during the times that it is available. I too wish that it were available year-round.
