I know the question is rather vague but I'm hoping for some good answers regardless. Thanks.

I'm not sure that either label has much meaning as every individual will have a different perception of what values are liberal. In some countries freedom of speech is considered a liberal value.
Traditionally those with conservative opinions and values who do not believe in equality and social justice represent these values as liberal even though these values were espoused by Jesus 2000 years ago.
Sadly being liberal has come to be a derogatory epithet but if you think about it the evolution of humanity is all about values that were at one time not accepted becoming the norm.

Its the same difference being a sunday church goer and a radical fundamentalist. Someone who is liberal might carry a more sympathetic ear to conservative thought and might even indulge in agreeing with right wing opinions. Very liberal people can be the die hards. Strong support for abortions, gay rights and marriage, and the works.

Someone who is liberal might support gay rights, oppose conservative supported agendas like the patriot act, but at the same time could be against abortion.

Also, there are various TYPES of liberals. You can have green liberals which are strong on enviromental issues, democratic liberals (who would most likely fit the description above) and even libertarian liberals (who support personal freedom). So be careful when assuming theres a clean cut line between "liberal" and "very liberal" when in all honesty, there isn't really a clean cut line of what a liberal should be

Extremity towards being liberal differentiates someone from one who is a simple liberal.

Do you take drugs, or do you sell drugs?
Do you blog about politics or blog about blogs on politics?
