The Nuclear Bomb is the obvious answer and is highly influential to this day. But, from history, the Gladius gets my vote. The Gladius was the standard issue short sword given to Roman professional troops and they used it to build an Empire the likes of which the world had never seen. It was used from behind a tower shield and was extremely effective at stabbing the enemy from behind it, piling up the bodies on the battlefield.

I would say Jesus whether you agree with His worldview or not you have to admit that His influence is felt the world over. Everyone who has heard about Him has an opinion about Him.

Moses is a close second in my mind. His writing are some of the most contriversal and widely attacked.

I wouldn't say Jesus yes he was great but he didn't impact all that many (those that wrote about him did) if you would have said souls then definitely him but you said human history. He wasn't human only half human.
so I would have to say Hitler no matter what country you go to they know of him and his atrocities
