After having been through a painful sort of soul-searching, identity-finding couple of years, I have come to wonder if this is common in one's late 20's? I mean, did (has) anyone else experience(d) some sort of mental/spiritual/emotional growth spurt in their mid to late 20's?

We are always growing mentally / spiritually / emotionally. I have had those "pains" you describe. Things DO get easier as we get older. Sometimes it's not easy, though. Hang in there, work hard, and life will take care of itself eventually.

yep, those crisis moments usually happen as you approach milestone birthdays and have been thinking about where your life is now and what you had expected to achieve by that point.

For example, you are in your late 20's and looking at 30 heading your way. You may be thinking about settling down and starting a family if you haven't already done so, or you may be thinking about where you expected to be in your educational or career path by this point or perhaps after not giving much thought to spiritual things, you are now feeling as if there is something missing or that perhaps there is something more than just our physical reality.

This might be your first crisis but it won't be your last. It's just your proof that you are still growing as an individual
