I know this guy who was/is my friend. He asked me to add him. However, he hasn't really talked to me on the phone, in person or on Facebook.

So, I deleted him because he's not a big deal in my life. I also have deleted people I rarely talk to. Why do so many people I know have so many friends then on Facebook? Just to have the count higher?

Lastly, I don't see the point in having a person on your friends' list if you don't communicate with them.

Its not rude. You can delete anyone anytime you want. The main problem with these social networking sites are - people take these as more serious as in real life which should not be the case. Because its a simple website whose data stores some database...no relation to real world. Whatever happen in your Facebook profile or whatever you do there wont affect you in real life. Your life will move ... you sleep, you sing, you eat, you walk...blah blah...bottom line is don't take a WEBSITEs profile so SERIOUSLY.

i wouldn't think it would be rude, although some people would get offended or get the wrong impression, but that's just kuz they are taking it in a personal way, when that may not be the case. it kinda could hav somethin to do with the Meyers Briggs Type Indicator, just depends on how they think and operate.......

People add people that they don't know, but know of. That has kinda become the "spirit of Facebook", at least in my "facebook acquaintances". It has become "cool" to have many friends.

But of course it's not mean! It's just facebook, it's not like it is IRL...
