It is very important to take the pill at about the same time everyday. You have about a 30 min. window for taking your pill. Like if you take at 11:30 am one day and 11:00 am the next, you should be fine. However, taking the pill at different times that go beyond 30 min., then you are compromising the pill. Which means, you become more likely to become pregnant. I know some pills, depending on the hormones, can cause major bleeding if you constantly take the pills at very different times.

The time doesn't have to be exact. If you need to change the timing of your pill, it's better to gradually move to the new time. An hour or two difference once in awhile isn't a big risk.
If you are very inconsistent in the timing of your pill, you may experience breakthrough bleeding and will slightly reduce how effective the pill is at preventing ovulation. That's because there will be hours in the day when the last pill has worn off, but you haven't yet taken the new pill. This means your hormones are fluctuating instead of staying consistent.

You are much less protected. You need to take it at the same time every day. Also if this is your first pack of pills you have to use back up protection for the first couple of weeks. Pick a time that works well for taking your pill 7 days a week 365 days a year and then stick to that schedule.

If you just started you aren't protected for 30 days. The pill is most effective if taken at the same time so as to keep a constant level of hormones in your body.

Taking the pill at the same time everyday is best. Depending on your body and the type of pill you take, some women start getting cramps and even bleed/spot if they take it a few hours late or miss a pill. Everytime a pill is missed or taken late it increases the chances of pregnancy.

It lessens the effectiveness of the pill, which is why the prescription states to take it at the same time every day.
Please stick to a time for the entire pill pack. If you want to change times yet again please wait till your new pack starts to change the time.
