my friend does. I'm scared for his life. He says it gets rid of phlegm. I say it will kill him eventually. What do you say?

Hydrogen Peroxide, in a dilute concentration (3% OTC) isn't toxic at all. Sure, it's not meant for human consumption, but in it's purest form, it's not all that toxic. Ingestion has been linked to blood disorders causing death, but the minute quantity that would be absorbed by gargling would be relatively fine.

The big danger, however, is it's ability to burn the crap out of your mouth. Exposure to this chemical, as it's a powerful oxidizer, will burn your skin or mouth lining. Rinse out afterwards!

Yes, when I had my wisdom teeth removed I was told to rinse with hydrogen peroxide. (not immediately of course) It does work for decreasing germs and bacteria, as far as strengthening teeth I'm afraid it can't restore lost strength to teeth but it can help keep teeth strong by reducing the number of germs and bacteria. Hope this helped!

It's safe to gargle with hydrogen peroxide. It's one of the most common uses, generally for sore throat. So, no, it's not going to kill him.

I have used hydrogen peroxide as a gargle and even had my dentist recommend that I use it on my tongue to remove bacteria. It is completely safe, but like mouthwash, don't swallow it.

When I was a kid, I cut the inside of my mouth falling on something. The doctor had me rinse the cut every day with hydrogen peroxide. If he doesn't swallow it and rinses with water he should be alright.

It won't kill him. I've gargled with it many times when I had an abscessed tooth. It's harmless.
It can give you an upset stomach or even make you vomit if you drink it though.

You would need to intentionally drink quite a bit for it to be dangerous. IT does do an excellent job of killing germs and whitening teeth. Don't worry, your friend is in no danger.

It's fine, if you can handle the taste. Don't swallow it, but it kills bacteria and germs in your mouth. I usually dilute a bit with water, and rinse three or four times.

don't be scared it won't kill him

I've never gargled with it but if you put a little on a q-tip and clean your ears then omg the tingly cleansing feels so good.
