A couple days ago I got a promise ring at my youth group, Its a ring that symbolizes your virginity until marriage, and your connection with God. The girl that gave us the ceremony said, intercourse, oral, or rubbing, was not ok. So is masterbation not ok too?????

I really need help with this, im confused.

It sounds like she may have been talking about rubbing threw clothes and not masturbation.

Better to masturbate then to get into trouble.. just my opinion.

The technical way to loose your physical virginity is only when you have intercourse. But, loosing your spiritual virginity is by having any type of sexual contact with another person, which includes oral and manual (rubbing). Since masturbation is a solo act it is NOT considered loosing your virginity in either sense.

So relax, you CAN masturbate without any worry. There is nothing wrong with it and perfectly healthy. Actually, masturbation is a great way to keep your promise as it will help satisfy your "urges".

Good luck to you Hun! Good for you for making that promise! God bless.

If you re religious you already know the answer ....

If you don't care that much about the whole ring thing... then you know that oral, and rubbing won't take your virginity... which by the way wouldn't matter... to me nobody that knows how to have sex (oral, anal or mutual masturbation) is virgin...
physically you may be... but your mind is way ahead.

"as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he"

In this case... if you already know how to do stuff... you are not really a virgin (in your heart)

That all depends on what YOU believe not what someone at church told you. However, a virgin is someone who has not had sexual intercourse....meaning penetration of a penis into a vagina. Oral, rubbing and masturbation have nothing to do with virginity.

Well any physical contact w/ the opposite sex gives a special bond with them...oral sex, masterbation etc...., Literally you in "worldly" terms are still a "virgin" if you have not had intercourse, but how can you do all these things and "spiritually" be a "virgin" ? ALL these things are to be saved for that special man on your wedding night...for him to discover you and you to discover him, not just to have sexual intercourse, God intended our bodies to be for one man and him only and for him to discover us on your wedding night. Ask your youth leader about it, I also suggest reading Joshua Harriss's books...I Kissed Dating Goodbye and Boy Meets Girl...Also I would suggest reading the Song of Solomon...if you want to learn about TRUE LOVE!!!! Good Luck and God Bless!!! :)

Oral and rubbing does not take away your virginity and neither does masturbation. A virgin is someone who has not had a penis inside their vagina.
