I'm a die hard buckeye fan born and raised in Columbus and despite what happened against Florida last year, I love Troy Smith. He's such a great guy, and he's a football player through and through. I was thrilled to see him get some play time tonight even though it meant nothing. Better yet, he made no mistakes, had good presence, showed really nice mobility, and he threw a really good looking pass that went incomplete only because his IR was held up.
What do you think? Is he the future of this franchise?
I also just want to say that I'm not a Ravens fan (will never forgive them for what they did to the Browns), but because of Troy Smith now in what seems to be a great position for his career as an NFL quarterback, I'll be a fan for the remainder of this season for sure :)

fan of neither, but when my roommate told me he was in the game, i immediately turned on the TV to see what he could do. it's not much considering the Colts had their backups in, but Smith did a great job. his 1st pass should have been a touchdown if only the receiver would have dove after it. Smith did a great job in this game with the few opportunities granted to him. i don't know if Baltimore is fixed on him just yet, so i wouldn't say he's their future.
he showed decent arm strength, accuracy, and movement in the pocket. for the dude that said he worked the pocket like Vick, that's an insult considering Vick's first thought after receiving the snap was run. he has a better spiral then Manning, but accuracy will have to be determined after a full game. from what i saw though, he looked good.
i always root for qb's that face so much criticism. i love it when the QB just shoves all it back into the critics face. nothing more beautiful then that. that is why i hope for good things out of smith and why i'm ecstatic about Brett Favre. i hope Smith is given more consideration in the near future, what else do they have to lose? Kyle Boller is not the answer.

He came in with very little time on the clock, but he showed a lot of promise. He would have had a TD, but the receiver didn't try to hard. He kinda reminded me of a young McNabb with his mobility and arm strength. The league isn't ready for a mobile Quarter Back, and until they except the fact that there are two types QB's Pocket Passer and Scramblers. Mr Smith being of the later he will have a mediocre career. It will be fun to watch, and the Raven need a QB bad...

Troy has a hell of a good arm as he showed us with his first pass play, he is the future but not sure if it's of the Ravens. I also would like to see him start next week. I dont think they will start Redman(he is a career backup) and McNair is likely out for the yr.So if i was the Ravens id start Smith the rest of the yr and have redman as my backup

Yeah, that was awesome. I was pumped to see him do so well, even against backups in garbage time. Agree with you on the Ravens too, although seeing them last week as the underdog and watching Troy this week made me wonder if it's time to think about forgiving them, especially now that the Browns seem to be finally emerging.

I stay in Columbus and the only element that I even have heard is that the coaches are stupid for no longer having television's interior the sales area to ensure that they must have mentioned as right down to the sector to undertaking the top zone fumble. that's all that folk have mentioned. it would have replaced the complection of the sport, yet shall we face it ... Trussel hasnt discovered a thank you to teach against the unfold. possibly he will awaken at some point and placed that on a to-do record!

Didn't catch his time in the game. Turned the channel unfortunately but I do hope he does well for them. He has been one of the least spoken of Heisman trophy winners in recent history. It's unfortunate he's playing for the Ravens though. I would have liked to see him play for the Bengals or Browns where he could have been appreciated much more.

BFD. He was the only guy on the field or in the stands that wanted to be there. Where was he against Florida is the question.

He looks good in the pocket like a mike vick , but he can throw like a Peyton manning, and i think his speed can open the defense since they wont be ready for him when he scramble, i hope start the next game
