Ive been drunk a few times and i seriously dont think its worth all the hassle.
I mean once every couple of months or something is fine i guess. But being drunk is crappy.
I love drinking casually with mates and getting tipsy and dizzy. But hangovers aint my thing.
I started drinking when i was like 14 i think.

I'm in my second year of college and yeah, I drank in high school. Not much though (in the sense of not very often. When I did drink though, I always got really drunk, once even to the point of blacking out, something I don't recommend, nothing good comes from it). But yeah, I went to a handful of house parties a year in high school, so it didn't really affect my schoolwork or anything like that. I graduated as valedictorian with a 4.06 GPA, so I'd say as long as you drink in moderation, probably keep it to the weekends and when you don't have any major projects or papers due, you should be all right.
And now in college I'm pretty much in the same situation. I've been to a few house parties, but don't make it a habit like my roommate I couldn't stand last year did where she would literally get drunk every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night pretty much and I believe she even ended up failing a class for her major.
So no, I don't regret drinking in high school at all. Just keep it in moderation and you should end up fine.

I didn't drink in high school, nor college. First, I hate the smell and the taste and I refused to learn to like it like everybody else did. There seemed to be no point to it.

As for getting drunk, it never appealed to me. Step back sometime and really watch your drunk friends. Aren't they a bit idiotic? You really want to be that way? Getting drunk impairs your thinking. You can end up doing all kinds of stupid things. It causes hangovers. You really want to have a headache and feel ill? I mean, you really hate yourself so much that you'd CHOOSE to do something so harmful to yourself?

Btw, your friends who are heavy drinkers might be interested in seeing a sample of cirrhosis of the liver: http://www.cheerzhangover.com/horrors.htm This is what ends up happening over time. Each time you drink a lot, you damage your liver a bit. If you do it often enough, your liver simply can't get healed and gets damaged more and more.

The real question is, why do you want to get drunk?????? What's the point? Just to not feel left out? That's a poor reason to do anything. Be good to yourself. Be good to your friends--try to find some FUNNER activities that you can all participate in that don't involve drinking. Honestly--there's so much more to life.

No, no, no. The lesson here is not that "it's okay to break the law." The lesson is that you need to be capable of a certain level of responsibility and maturity to handle alcohol, and someone whose opinions on the subject are swayed as easily as yours does not meet that standard. Yes, some people drink in high school and turn out just fine, but others can't handle it as well as they think they can or get caught. Don't do it unless you're prepared to accept the consequences - and really, it's not enough fun to be worth the bad ones at your age.

I got drunk once in high school. And to tell you the truth, it was barely fun at the time. I felt like a fake.

I would never encourage any minor to drink. You're at a point in your life where it's much easier to become an alcoholic for the rest of your life. Whether you believe it or not, you're still learning how to deal with problems in your life and alcohol can really complicate things.

Don't let your friends make YOUR choices for you. If they are really your friends, they'll understand.

I am 21 now, but I got really drunk for the first time when I was 16. Yet, all of my friends had been drunk way before this age. Don't drink too much (trust me, ya'll know why if ya do), but I don't see why not...if u want to have a few than go for it! Just don't get in trouble or do it just because of the others do. Also, I don't regret it, but I never got an MIP. I was careful!

Because there is a void in their lives. Regardless of what a persons vice is, human beings choose their vices to fill what is missing in their lives or to escape from reality and it escalates into a lonely still world. It has nothing to do with feeling like an adult or because its cool or any of these other things. People do not like to face their own mortality and so they do things to numb the reality that we are all going to die one day. Unfortunately it does nothing to slow the process but only hasten it, sometimes tragically. Drunkeness is sin and as with any other sin it is rooted in pride. Pride is the only REAL sin, all other things fall under that one catagory. Believing that you have the right to do anything you want to and anyone else be damned. I have seen the effects of alcohol in my own family resulting in many painful circumstances, disease, death, pain, divorce, abandonment, mental illness, etc. Even the death of a child. It is not funny, not cute, not cool and not ok. Reaching out to any vice instead of our creator always brings pain, sadness, and death. Everyone who drinks has that time when they are alone with themselves when they look in the mirror and know that this path is leading them nowhere good, no matter how they laugh and pretend in front of others it is pointless, useless and foolish. "The foolishness of a man twists his way and his heart frets against the lord" Proverbs 19:3

I didn't drink in high school. Neither did I drink during my undergraduate years. I'm currently 21, in grad school, and I still don't drink.

Can't say the same for some of my friends though.

The bottom line, I think, is that you can drink..... as long as you can control yourself.

there is no harm in drinkling alcohol in high school.but the fact is you should realize the responsibilties of handling yourself ...in a sense dont get addicted and study hard.concentrate on what your goals are.because alcohol somethings diverges you from your career path.njoy
