sadly, there is no hotline in hollywood you can call to tell people your ideas, even if they're amazing. you need to learn how to put your ideas into screenplay or teleplay form to have any chance of selling them. the good news is there are plenty of how-to books out there, which teach you the basics, like this very famous one:
http://www.amazon.com/Screenplay-Foundations-Screenwriting-Syd-Field/dp/0385339038/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1197276615&sr=8-1
once you've read the books, you should read some professional screenplays, which you can find here at drew's script-o-rama:
http://www.script-o-rama.com/snazzy/dircut.html
then it's time to put your original idea down on paper, which is real test of any idea. stick with it. don't try to be perfect the first time. just get the scenes down and then refine them, comparing them to the pro scripts for guidance.
once you've written your first script, you should enter a screenplay competition, which doesn't cost much money and could get you an agent. the nicholl competition is the most prestigious, they pick ten finalists every year, but even the semi- and quarter-finalists get attention. here's the link with an online application:
http://www.oscars.org/nicholl/
anyway, that's where you send your movie ideas. save your tv ideas until you get an agent. good luck.

Thats what I have been wondering too because I have plenty of freakin awesome movie ideas but I'm sure you go to like a movie studios site or something and just email them about your ideas. Here's my movies I'M working on.
1. Drive To Survive Starring Vin Diesil
2. Mega Woman starring Anjelina Jolie
3. Insane Ghost starring Thora Birch, and Michael J. Fox
4. Shekong starring Shakira
5. One Big Baby Girl starring Drake And Josh's Miranda Cosgrove
6. The Insane Ghost Pro starring Michael J. Fox, and Ving Rhames
7. Big Booty Moma starring Beyonce Knowles, and Jennifer Lopez
These movie ideas are horror, and comedies, the One Big Baby Girl is just a movie idea I came up with , its just a funny comedy with big funny humor that invovles her passing gas, burping, and stuff.

That sounds cool. i like trek. I even have the comparable dillema with my concept for a stay-action Thundercats action picture. I contacted WarnerBrothers (who carry the rights to the charactors) and that they mentioned the comparable element "unsolicited" stuff wasn't allowed. It sucks. How is all people meant to furnish any enter or strategies to the leisure marketplace to enable them to understand what people want, whilst they slam the door on your face? I gave up already. and that i had a collection of stars in recommendations for the different roles that could have made the action picture a great fulfillment, in the event that they made it. good success.

You need an agent. If you send an idea to Universal Studios with nothing attached to it, they can steal it and say that they ahd this indea "in production" and you are out of luck
