I think we are slowly on the way, Hillary will try to socialize healthcare and then the democrats will rule the nation for another 20 years or so before they may be taken out of power. I believe that the nation is so liberal now they want socialized system of Government to take CARE of them.

Communism? Yes. Socialism? Absolutely.

Unless we take action, we will become the thing we most feared during the cold war. Amazing what can happen in just a few years. This isn't limited to the US, it's all over the formerly free world. Look at the EU and UK - they are more socialist than not. If they are the yardstick by which we measure our freedom, then we will get a warped sence of what freedom is.

The most frightening thing about it is that it isn't the government forcing itself on an unwilling public. It's a brainless public demanding that the government take their freedoms in exchange for the illusion of security.

Well the UK and most of Europe has always been to the left of Hilary Clinton in their policies and everyone is happy with the social care here and no one thinks we are Communist. Many people used to live under Communism in East Germany, they know the difference.

I can't believe how many Americans defend to the death their right to be sc**wed by sharp lawyers and big business.

Are you asleep? Wirh the Fascists controlling the Supreme Court, It'll be 20 years before we get a centrist court let alone a liberal one, and you can forget communist, or even populist.

And the re[publicans haven't lost their ability to filibuster anything the Democrats can find the guts to even propose.

I think you're letting your fear drive your paranoia way over the edge here.

t
OH MY GOD---a government that TAKES CARE OF US----OH MY GOD!!!!

The horror!!!! The horror!!!!!

I'd rather be a socialist and trade some freedom for security than a Republican and trade my freedom for absolutely nothing.

Oh wait, I get 'trickle-down' economics as a Republican voter---which means: "After my friends and I in the White House are finished gourging ourselves, and after we've wrapped the leftovers into the table cloth and hauled it off, YOU get whatever is lying on the floor that we missed!"

Bon appetite!

Did you know that the Pledge of Allegiance was written by a utopian socialist?

Better not SAY IT ANYMORE---tut, tut!

A lot of people on blogs like this seem to think that about Democrats, as well as people like Ann Coulter. This is a young conservative's conspiracy theory.

If you want me to play the other side, I will, and tell you that our alternative looks to be a tyrannical, neo-conservative, fearmongering New World Order.

You begin to see the ultra-contrasting false dichotomy that fuels the political section of opinion blogs, don't you? Thankfully, I think the real world tends to be a little bit more moderate. And when things get out of balance, it tends to rally people in the other direction.

So you're saying that government serving the people is equal to communism?

Think about it, we already have free public schools, free (or cheap) public universities, free government-funded roads, free health care for the elderly. And are we in communism?

No, there are enough lobbying corporations that would not want to lose the money of capitalism that would not let that happen.

Nor would a lot of people want to lose their own power and money, so those people won't let it happen.

IF the country goes down that road, it's possible to cause another civil war.
