Defend physiological psychology from this
criticism :

A philosopher has criticized the entire approach of physiological psychology. He claimed that
an understanding of the physical working of the brain and body would tell us little or nothing
about the mind: mental states could never be understood in terms of neural activity. He
concluded his criticism with the statement that, “Knowing how a computer’s hardware works
tells us nothing about the information it contains.”

Can't - it makes perfect sense to me and the only way you can get the information is through communication - verbally or visually. Good analogy.

You could say although looking at the workings of the mind may tell us nothing, comparing the mind to others may show us different things, for eg: the characteristics of a person may differ depending on their mind.

I'm not sure if this helps, I don't know exactly if I understood the question.
