It’s been four weeks now since the (vaginal) birth of my son and I have been having weird stomach problems. Anytime I eat something I get stabbing pains in my stomach. As soon as I take a bite of food within five minutes I get this sharp stabbing pain in my stomach. I was wondering if it could be from my stomach going back to normal or something else. My husband mentioned in might be an ulcer and I plan on going to the doctor next week to get it checked. I was just wondering if someone knew what might cause this and if it could possibly be normal.

Yes, this could have to do with your stomach trying to get back to normal. It can take the body a while to adjust to no longer being pregnant. Based on the sharp pains you feel sometimes this can also be related to gas.

I would recommend calling the doctor this week to find out if this is something should be evaluated this week instead of next because of how uncomfortable this pain is.
