Ive had this problem in the past but it just stopped one day and it started again today its my desktop dissapearing and i thought i solved it but now it has come back and im already sick of it again can someone help me? already scanned (and deleted things) with Windows Defender (got rid of it in the first place) and scanned and deleted stuff with ncleaner i cant really think of what else to do

dude, that smells like a virus to me.... delete whatever anti-virus you have on there, get a new one and do a full scan
(sometimes a virus will infect an antivirus program)
go into add/remove programs and throw out all of your cleaner and defender programs, they are pretty much crap anyway
spybot search and destroy is a great one if you think its spyware (a flashing screen is most likely spyware slowing down your cpu usage)
this order-
1- remover all the crap from your computer
2- get a better antivirus and run it
3- run spybot
4- unplug from the net and run system tools (defrag & compress)
5- restart, plug back into the matrix, and see if that fixed it
if its still broken, i reccomend converting the computer into a warm steam humidifier and adding some nice lavender oil to the water

Dear,
I could not get the essence of your question. If your desktop disappears then you will either have an blank screen or you will have a system restart. there is nothing in between i could imagine. If this is the case then it is useless to go for troubleshooting you are advised to take you computer to a professional. or if you know a little and you have another computer then take the hard-drive out and fix it with another computer take you backup and then FORMAT the system and do a clean installation.
Caution: It is important to take the backup and make sure that you have all the relevant drivers and software Cd's and DVDs with you at the time of new installation.
I Warn you do take a backup other wise there is a greater probability that you will loose all or some part of your data. And I will not be responsible for that.

like the start bar dissapearing? i had that happen with an anti virus thing; do system restore then check to see if this happens only when you install a certain program.

Did you delete system32? Because you might as well buy a new cpu then...
Same if you deleted other critical files by mistake... that's the most likely problem.
