What do I think of New England? The team, you mean? I think they're a great football team. And I've said so all along.
What do I think of New England? Some of the fans, you mean? Like yourself, maybe? I think some of you could be a lot more gracious and a lot less arrogant. Congrats on your win, by the way.
I DO agree with you that it was in poor taste for a Steeler to "guarantee" a win (and so did most of the Steelers). I couldn't watch the game, since I live in Cleveland and it wasn't shown here, so I don't really know how well either team played.
I'd have been thrilled if the Steelers had won this game, but I don't think either team has anything to prove at this point.

Smith never guaranteed a victory.
I am really getting sick of this. The media twisted the story to make it look like this happened. Read the whole quote people.
It went something like this.
"Yeah, I can guarantee a win against the Pats. As long as we do what we gotta do and our special teams come through for us."
It turns out Smith was right on the money! The special teams didn't come through for us. And everybody didn't do what they had to do....THUS, we lost. Smith never ran his mouth. He had poor wording to his speech, and the media cut out the second half of the sentence and ran off with it.
Also, I never said that we were going to be THE team to beat the pats, we were the only team left with a shot, but now we'll have to wait til playoffs.
And "better luck next year?" What makes you think the Steelers won't see the Pats in the playoffs. Steelers might end up with the 4th seed if we lose next week, that means that we'll see the Pats in the divisional playoffs! hmmm? Anyone else remember a divisional playoff game that the Steelers were not supposed to win? (2006 Indy game for those of you who didn't know!)

Oh grow up! Does anyone really think an obscure free safety's "guarantee of a win" made the difference in the Patriot's performance?
Patriot fans are like Bulls fans in the Jordan era. In the 90's, they were all over the place in every city. Now, you can't find them outside of Chicago.
In a few years you'll only find Tom Brady jerseys in swapmeets and vintage clothing stores.

They feel embarrassed about the flea flicker play. You can say anything you want too. Injuries, officials, whatever. The Patriots are a much better team than the Steelers. Sorry to say.

I hate both teams. But being a Bengal fan, I hate the Steelers more. So in light of the guarantee check that bounced, Ha Ha Ha!

Wouldn't it be great if the Steelers knocked off the Colts and came back to Gillette for the AFC Championship--and the same things worked the same way again.

I am angry because they always air the Browns over the Steelers in my area. If I had been watching then the Steelers would have won. I am assuming they lost...
