To be honest, if I actually did the diving, I'd be the next thing you'd find. I wouldn't be able to climb out again.
But, I've trained my kids right! I noticed a griddle, looked new, and asked my son what he thought. I came inside and a few minutes later he came back in and said, "Mom, you've got to see this!" He was so excited.
I went out and he had an entire box of stuff from the dumpster...Revere Ware set of stove top pots and and pans, the double-burner cast iron griddle, a Daisy (circa 1917) butter churn, a pizza stone, a set of Ginzu knives still in the original shipping carton, and a small stroller for dogs. He later took the butter churn to the antique store in the village, and he sold it to the owner for $125. Not a bad day for a diving lesson!

Actually, I've never been Dumpster Diving! Dad and Mom raised us kids to think it's a bad thing. I am not sure why they were so dead set against it but I've never tried it. Funny, I've never given the matter any thought until you asked this question. Hmmmm, guess one is never too old to start.
