I typed up this sentance for my report "There are two types of crust on the Earth." Without using any online resources and I used a plagiarism checker online to make sure I didn't plagiarize but sure enough there is a website with those exact words on it. Is this plagiarism?

basically, your sentence is somewhat generic and does not provide sufficient info needed by the readers. therefore i'd say it is not plagiarism.

if in case after that sentence you specified the details and did not mention your sources of info, then that's plagiarism.

No way... it is not plagiarism unless it's either a longer passage copied word for word (not sure on how much it needs to be but I'm pretty sure more than one sentence) or if its a thought or idea that is not considered common knowledge.

You could be plagarizing any text book on earth science in existence. There is a difference between stating a simple fact, like you did and deliberately stealing words or ideas from another source and not giving credit where credit is due.

Plaigarism is when you intentionally represnt someone else's thought or ideas as you own. You had no idea that texrbook even existed, therefore, not plaigarism. And the other ppl are right, that is a pretty common sounding sentence.
