in the sims 2, why does mortimer randomly appear in the current lot?

i am playing on a lot and mortimer randomly runs onto the lot pushes one of my characters and then he leaves. what is that all about?

Ha ha. Yeah, the Goth house is actually haunted. Are you playing on the Goth house lot? I don't think it does anything to a Sim's wellness bars to get spooked by Mortimer or a ghost, but it's funny to watch. If you watch overnight, you'll see other ghosts appear from the gravestones and walk around.

yea, i agree with those girls above. it happens when someone in the lot you're playing use a telescope--usually the expensive one. you may notice that the sim, who uses the telescope, suddenly surprised and a thinking baloon will appear with the mortimer picture in it. the mortimer thinks you are spying him and he will angrily run into your lot and slap--or irritate or fight the telescope user. that's why.

If you have a sim use the telescope during the day, he thinks your spying on him, therefore, he runs over to your sims' house, pissed off. He only shows up for a few seconds, slaps your sim once or twice, then leaves.

using the telescope during the day builds logic but means youre spying on your neighbor so he comes and pokes you. Before he gets to you, just x on the action in the corner of the screen so he wont do it. lol

It happens when you use the telescope. He's coming to tell you off for spying on him *wags finger* =P
I -think- it only happens if you use the telescope during the day...you should be safe at night.
