Are you clicking on Contacts in the left column or Add contacts below this?
You must click on Contacts first.
I just duplicated the problem you have.
Right click on the blue area an left click reload.
If this does not correct the problem, you have a slow internet connection, you computer is not refreshing, Firefox, Mozilla is bogging down.
Or it could be a sign of a immenent hardware failure.
Make sure your Internet is working properly. Power off everything - computer(s), hub(s), router(s), Modem for at least 5 minutes.
Power on your Modem first - wait for the lights to start flashing green - should be no red lights.
Power on Router(s) (if any) next - make sure lights are flashing (usually there will be one steady light for power)
Power on Hub(s) (if any) next - make sure lights are flashing (usually there will be one steady light for power - may be red)
Power on your computer - periferals first (monitor, printer, etc)
Log on and try again.
If the same problem exists, make you have updated virus/spyware/adware scanner(s)
Run a manual thorough scan.
Clean out (delete) you cookies, history, etc from Firefox.
Restart your computer, log on and try again.
Still not fixed.
Close all applications.
For the following steps, you must have administrator rights - example - the ability to add/remove programs.
Run a scandisk (checkdisk, error-checking)
To do this:
double click on My computer
right click on C: drive
left click on Properties
Left click on the Tools Tab at the top of the Properties window.
Left click on check now
There are 2 check boxes - check them by left clicking on each one.
Left click on Start
If you receive a message that reads:
The disk check could not be performed because the disk check utility needs exclusive access to some windows files on the disk. These files can be accessed only by restarting Windows. Do you want to schedule this disk check to occur the next time you restart your computer?
Yes and No buttons
Left click the Yes button.
Close all windows and restart the computer - this could take hours to complete depending on the size of the hard drive, speed of th computer, installed memory, amount of free disk space.
After this has completed, log onto the computer and run defragmenter
Left click on Start, All Programs (Programs), Accessories, System Tools, Disk Defragmentor
Left Click on Defragment
If it states the drive does not require defragmenting, continue anyway. This could also take a few hours.
If these measure do not work, you will have to have your computer check by a reputable computer tech.
Good Luck.

If all of that doesn't seem to work, switch back to the older version ... the link is in the top right-hand corner of your screen.
There still seem to be a few bugs with the new version, especially where Firefox is concerned ...
