It is because they have nowhere to go & nothing to do... no family & friends are all with their families. No one to phone to & all shops are closed... They say Merry Christmas to you but do absolutely nothing to relief that misery that is in the heart. So for me, i will shut down all phones that day because the 'Merry Christmas' is so superfical.

So there is only being alone with the TV or the internet & to be honest, it is a really bad way to pass Christmas.

It is possible that these people are most of the time lonely but Christmas season makes the loneliness much more intensive.

I am a Christian but i don't celebrate it anymore because to me, Jesus' birth is in my heart & not a bunch of fanfare the world has made it to be... i would rather have my heart being touched during Christmas & it is still a wish for me.

I study an editorial on yahoo information the different day approximately this, and that i've got faith it mentioned homicide, and suicide do no longer particularly boost, they only get greater interest, yet melancholy does. which could be logical because of the fact at wintry climate solstice the place the sunlight remains at that is southernmost factor for 3 days, Dec. twenty first-twenty fourth, we get the least mild that we will get all twelve months. Then on Dec. twenty 5th after spending 3 days in hell, the sunlight is reborn, and starts off that is journey decrease back to the northern hemisphere slightly greater on a daily basis, until the days get longer, and spring is right here. the place Jesus/Horus exchange into particularly born, interior the spring, interior the constellation of Virgo. you spot Christianity, is principally a photograph voltaic mythos, and the entire e book relies around this.

If there is an increase in suicide around Xmas, it could possibly be correlated with the increased reporting of depression.

I think unrealistic expectations of gifts, friendship, and assorted tra-la-la centered on one day when the planet is emerging from the darkest, shortest days needs to be considered.

I would guess that it has something to do with not having someone to spend the holidays with -- similar to why Valentine's Day holds the highest suicide rates.

Because it's so dark outside, for one. Secondly, Christmas reminds us of how much suckage there is in life--dreams do not come true, families don't get along, people die...you know: LIFE. So all the manufactured "joy" gets in the way of real life, A.K.A. "Loss."

Fun, huh. Glad you asked?

I lost my first born at 12 years old . Cancer .
I like many parents are still empty inside .
My other two "children" have "grown-up" and have their own families now . Great ?
For them maybe .
They have NEVER shared "their" families with me nor than grandmother .
Depressing as that seems it is Season for families to be together .
So for this holiday season please volunteer at your local soup kitchens .
Many there have no families .
MERRY CHRISTMAS to all .

when a lonely hatred soul sees other people happily enjoying the xmas season, it really gets confused, jealous, anxiety which makes them to reach that end.

Some times you do have emotional commitment to finish some tasks ( relation based ) finishing it before xmas(like proposing to your companion) makes people nervous , there they are tend to make mistake then they reach the sorrow end

people who are depressed see others happy around them more making them more depressed. or maybe they don't feel loved or appreciated while they see everyone else. Christmas time is a time for joy but if your watching everyone else experience it than yaaa.
