Don't wish bad on others, it will only come to haunt you. I assume you have electric cooling fans, what I'm confused about is if you had the coolant system looked at (for 700 bucks) didn't they look at the fan system? Ether find a good mechanic that you can trust or stop throwing money out the window.

A common problem with the electric fan system is that most backyard mechanics don't know that there is a temp switch for the fans and a separate one for the gauge or (idiot) light and that there is a relay and fuse.
They usually bypass the system and thus the fans run all the time.
If the fans run all the time and speed up with the engine the battery or alternator may be week.

$1600 for a trans overhaul and $700 for cooling system . maybe I can see the trans. but what did yo have done on the cooling system

It sounds like someone by-passed the temostat thet turns the fans on and off or it ie just bad. The engine should be running at a constant temp of about 195. I have not seen anything but electric fans on cars since the 80's even most modern hot rod builders use electric. antway yes you can hear them from the outside of the car. on the inside you should just hear the engine reving.
Hope that helps. you could take it in and ask a mechanic but I feel your pain..I had issues with a brand new one and a certain dealer...Good luck my friend.
Happy Holidays!

LT4 heads, cam and intake, headers with sturdy exhaust.Any sturdy head cam intake combination will awaken an LT1.The LT4 setup gives you you the numbers you're lookin for.you will get some extra capability out of an LT4 setup with alittle extra agressive cam.The loss off capability from traveling by way of all that stuff earlier it gets to the wheels is noted as drivetrain loss.

The fan clutch is bad, Just swap it out, or remove the whole thing and put an electric cooling fan on the back of your radiator. Then no power is robbed from the engine.

You need to find better mechanics. It looks like your getting screwed both left and right. The fans run at only one speed so you have a problem. But it looks like you need to find someone else to check them out.
