I just split with my wife, she is a mental patient and suicidal, I couldn't take it anymore so i decided to end the relationship after trying to make it work for three years. We had a daughter in 05 but when my wife tried to hurt her in 06 we had to give full custody of her to my wifes parents. now that we are split I can care for my daughter and raise her myself, i even have a baby sitter for when I'm at work. The problem is that my wifes parents will not give her back. What can I do. I love my daughter and want to raise her myself, but it seems like nothing is going my way.

I've always given them 1000 a month in support but they are sueing me for more saying I don't give them enough. I am not even allowed to take her for a weekend. I have a lawyer by the way, thank you for that good advice. She is getting the divorce set and knows about my daughter.

Get an attorney. As a father who can provide for his child is entitled to raise the child and have full custody.

Off course we only get a small part of whats going on when we read what you had to say and do not know the full story.

Best Advise: Get A Lawyer

Yes, you can get your daughter back. Grandparents don't have parental rights. As long as they didn't adopt her (even then, there is still a chance). My friends just went through this and they got their daughter back from the wifes' parents. Point is, keep your head up and keep faith. Also, keep your (hopefully really good) lawyer, they help, especially in sticky situations. Good luck

it is in the best interests of the child to be with either mother or father.. legally if you are stable you have the right to have your daughter but if you have given full custody to her parents I think they can keep her forever... consult a lawyer and prepare for battle

Go get a lawyer. You should be able to get custody. Be sure to tell the grandparents they are welcome to visit and to be a part of her life. They know the issues with their daughter and I think part of the problem is that they are afraid they will never see their precious granddaughter again. Talk to them.

Yes you can get her back! Your her DAD! Go get an attorney, kids should always be with the natural parents unless something doesn't allow that. Don't give up on this.
