I recently went to jail for intent to distribute, now my girl's father hates me, and i want to ask her to marry me. But before I do I need to ask her father's prmission, do you have any suggestions?

YES - DON'T ask him anything!! Fathers typically won't like the men their daughters get involved with. Fathers are men who know how men can be. Even if her dad liked you before, he was still probably waiting for you to screw up so he'd be the best male figure in his daughter's life. Many fathers don't want their daughters to grow up and move on - they want to protect the daughters from the world and the men out there, too. Why ASK him when it sounds like he'll say no? Are you going to cancel marrying her if he says no? If you are going to marry her either way, then don't ask him - just let her inform him that there's going to be a wedding. Meantime, you'll HAVE TO forget about drugs. That wasn't a smart thing to do and if you're planning to live a married life, you shouldn't get mixed up in that crap. You can end up in prison some day with a wife and baby at home who cannot see you except on visiting days. No parent wants their daughter mixed up with a guy who's involved with drugs. Don't even think about marriage unless you're seriously ready to straighten up, step up to the plate and be a real man.

LOL, i think you blew it son.
The BEST thing you could do is get OFF the drugs and alcohol, get OUT of the dope business, clean up your life, work and get a car, your own place and do this for a YEAR and THEN ask her father if you can at least take her to church with you.
Otherwise he will probably greet you with a shotgun,I know any decent father would NOT want their precious daughter marrying a druggie.
John 3:1-5 and Acts 2:38 is the best place to start and try the United Pentecostal church they can help you.

Well first i think you have to change your ways. Her father see this as a very bad sign and that your not worth his daughters time. So before you ask I think you have to prove yourself in terms of no illegal activity, and a foreseeable future as proof that you are starting a new life. In terms of talking to her father, you need something to show him that you have changed and win him over. My suggestions, getting a really good job, going to get more education or showing a lot of responsibility

Hum I guess I'd be pissed too if I was him. I mean you don't exactly want your daughter ending up with someone that could possibly have to abandon her because he did something stupid and illegal and was put in jail for it. However, the best you can do is go to him. Tell him that you are a man and are willing to deal with your mistakes, not make excuses for what you did. Tell him how you will make a good husband for her and ask his permission. If he says no... doesn't mean you can't still ask her.

the father has to sign off his rights in order for the new husband to apply for adoption. So why are you dogging your childs dad like you posted ? The point is w/out him U wouldn't have her, So why your trying to make him look so horrible what does it say about U?? you're the 1 that breed with him !!

You really have to clean up your act to prove you have changed your ways. Then after a while her dad might see things differently. Get a decent job that you enjoy and are proud of get your own apartment/house and car and improve yourself go back to school or learn a trade that will one day help you support the woman you love. If you stay focused things will work out for you

I'd suggest you walk the straight and narrow for awhile before you bring this up; get a job, quit dealing drugs, get an education........this is too fresh in his mind that a criminal wants to ask for his daughter's hand in marriage.....the answer will most definitely be no way in Hel!

Stay clean and do not do anything bad (of course). If you think you cant get the dad then try on the mom. I guess just be nice and stay clean. Maybe you can also dress nicer. Prove to him that you are good enough for his daughter.
