Do you think that an animal born into captivity, knows it is captive?

...such as a lion cub in a safari park?

Or a dolphin in a dolphinarium

Human children just accept family life as it is, good, bad or indifferent, until they experience that of their peers, after all.

I'm sure they realize there is boundaries but I don't think they would know they are captive, if you have never experienced freedom you wouldn't know you didn't have it.
