recently my computer doesn't even recognize the cd drive. How do I reinstall it.?

It's done this before and didn't require servicing I just don't know what my dad did.

maybe you dont have a media player on your computer

It doesnt need to be installed on a computer program. This is assembled inside by its IDE cable and power cable supply.

Better check this connections on the insides of your computer. Most especially if they are connected on a single IDE cable together with the Harddisk. The other must have a master settings the CD drive must be set on a slave position of the small pin at he back of the cdrom drive near its IDE pins connections.

You will see a small pin and see instructions on how to place the pin to a slave.

Then try to booth again your computer its automatically detects what is new hardware is installed.

Sometime the pin connection between the computer and the cd drive has been jumbled and is not fully connected, I recommend you take it out and slide it back in carefully and try again.

try uninstalling and reinstalling your drive,use the add hardware to install it,if it does not automatically install.

They break sometimes. You may have to replace it.
