The E in WWE stands for entertainment. Have your noticed that when a wrestler makes a "surprize" appearance, their theme and special effects start up?
I knew a retired professional wrestler who told me that he once had his leg broken in the ring. He said that he and his opponent looked at each other and said, "Now what do we do?".
By the way the blood is real. Even a small cut on the face or head looks gross when you wipe it across your face and it mixes with perspiration.

A lot of people have voiced their opinions on the question Fake Or Real. Many have valid points. The fact is, All results are predetermined, and there are move sets that all wrestlers employ on a regular basis. Much like in football, where the first 15 plays are scripted, so are the moves the wrestlers use. the lockup, then armbar, then an irish whip, then a clothesline. cover, 1,2 kick out. the wrestlers work out before the event what the moves will be, and how the finish will go. There are many youtube movies to validate both sides. Sid Vicious, or Psycho Sid once broke his leg, someone hit his head on the mat before Steiner had a chance to move his hands, and then you have the tell all books of Michaels, Hogan, Foley, etc... Foley once fell off the steel cage, through the announcers table. tell me that doesn't hurt. Real or Fake... yep, you make the call, everyone is entitled to their opinion.

it's totally fake.. it's just an acting! but it hurts.. when you watch some, you will thought that it's real.. amazing right? here.. It is fake in most ways. It has to be. Professional Wrestlers have a tough job: they have to be athletes, acrobats, stunt-men, actors (of a sort), and have the ability to heal up from injuries quickly, or be able to hide those injuries from the crowd. It takes a long time to learn how to be a pro wrestler. How to land punches, how to telegraph, the way you slam your foot when you 'hit' your opponent, so that it sounds like you did something; how to fall, how to properly execute wrestling moves and make them look real, and all of that sort of thing. If you or I tried to perform (for example) a "piledriver", we'd break someone's neck! You have to hold the man higher than your knees, so that the force of the drop is on your knees, and not on his head. However, sometimes things go wrong. People get hurt, or get very angry, or even go into a steroid rage, and people *do* get hurt, sometimes badly. Then, it IS for real. But you would have a hard time spotting such an occurrence (especially on a TV broadcast), other than the individual who "lost" it might find his contract voided, and no longer allowed to wrestle in the syndicate or federation you're familiar with them in. The act of "juicing" (or making small cuts on one's forehead) does still occur, but in these days of AIDS, it does not occur as often as it used to, and the individuals are routinely tested for blood-borne diseases such as AIDS and Hepatitis Type 3.

Commercial wrestling is fake as well scripted matches could attract audiences and sponsors. But in real life, wrestling is real as you slam your little brother onto the floor and he screams in pain.

It's as real as any other scripted reality show, except the characters put a lot more effort into it, the plots don't focus around getting wasted and doing your roommates, and when it's live they can't retape their lines. It's a lot like theatre, except more physical.
