RE:
How do I convert litres to grams?
I'm stuck on my hw which is due tomorow. It's chemistry and it's giving me differents substances like CO2 and oxygen and hydrogen. I just need the formula to convert litres into grams. Thank you for y...

You will need to know the DENSITY of the molecules/substances that you want to convert. For example density of water is 1 g/L. So 1 L of water equal to 1 gram of water. Hope this helps.

um you need to know the density of the methamphetamine precursors in the bi-layered solution and the subsequent reactions and distillations that were used to process the result.

Gases have a 'Relative' figure called Specific Gravity that compares their Density to that of air and, from which the Density of the gas can be calculated.
Clean, dry air has a density of 1.2kg/m³. at STP.
The Specific Gravity of CO2 = 1.52. This means that CO2 is 1.52 times heavier than air.
Multiply the density of air by the S.G. of CO2 to obtain the density of CO2.
= 1.2kg/m³ x 1.52 = 1.824kg/m³.
Oxygen and Hydrogen are lighter than air and therefore, have a Density lower than that of air.
Pure Hydrogen Specific Gravity = 0.07.
Therefore, 1m³ of Hydrogen = 1.2m³ (air) x 0.07
= 0.084kg/m³.
(Notice that S.G. has no units. Its a relativity to the Density of air for gases and to water for liquids. Pure water S.G. = 1.00 = 1g/mL (cc)).
(I have a long list of substances and their S.G.'s but, I've no way to send them without an 'Answers' e-mail address).
