Yeah i apologise for the tone...I was a bti frustrated.
I was doing an online listing for messages in a forum and looking for dates and its just so much easier when looking at the first number instead of the middle one for the day. No offence to the Americans, i like yas.

In all honesty I use both. I wish there was just one format because it can get confusing but I would have to assume its the same reason Americans drive on the right side of the road and use a different system of measurements. And I'm not quite sure why that is.

Its based on the way its spoken. In Europe, that is going for eire and the united kingdom, people say 6th of June, the place interior the U. S. you're saying June 6th. at present Sky information has the yankee way on exhibit, i'm uncertain why it is the case even with the incontrovertible fact that it is going against what all and sundry else on the continent does. The 11th March assaults in Spain are time-commemorated as 11-M while the united kingdom seventh of Jully assaults are 7 July, the two as oppossed to the international commerce center assaults dubbed 911.

It just shows what Americans like to emphasize. The month is most important and then the day.

I personally like this yyyy/mm/dd. From general to specific.

When you want to look at specific files that are named by these dates, this is the best way in my opinion. There's no confusion.

Well I mean you don't have to make it sound so insulting, ha ha.... I don't know the official answer for sure, but to us the importance is placed on the month because we will be dealing with that month for 28 to 31 days. I think it's pretty safe to say that likewise your version doesn't make sense to us. But I've never heard anyone complain about either. ;)

mm/dd/yy = December 9th, 2007
dd/mm/yy = the 9th of December, 2007
Just 2 different ways to say the same thing, really.

There is no logic, just like there is no logic to not using the metic system. Americans I suppose start to do something, and even though the entire world starts to do it in an easier and better way, Americans are so stubborn and lazy that they will not change.
