The story of Sunshine and her MattBaby is one of eternal hope and everlasting lust.
Those two are like chummy boa constrictors. They seem like conjoined twins sometimes. Separated, that is one unusual cowgirl and one brave and daring Law Man! But together they totally turn into piles of mush. They have the mantra “The secret of life is in TV Land, on "Gunsmoke."” They live somewhere between reality and fantasy, but it is in a world of their own. Listen to their own corny words and you will find their sense of truth:
Matt:“Listen here.....Sunshine baby Doll, I don't need nothin' but your love to sustain me while I am away for days on end chasing those bandits through the gulches and gullies. Even through the darkest night as I sit by the campfire my yearning will not go away. I carry you with me wherever I go.”
Sunshine: “Oh Matt Baby. When I am alone all I can think of is you and when I’m not alone you come so easily to mind. When I first met you I just knew we were gonna last the test of time. My chest swells with pride when I see you astride you horse. And it reminds me of when we are together…..sometimes….but not recently (sigh).”

After Matt met Shunshine the show and Matt gradually changed. Previously, when he was out in the prairie with the night sounds in the background, you could be sure Matt was thinking about catching some nasty outlaw he was chasing. But later, as 4. the wind moans and sighs during the night, he was just as likely to be thinking of Sunshine as he was to be planning the capture of another desperado, having learned one other secret, there is more to life than work.

My heartbeat trembles violently as I hear the sound of the gunshot in the forest. I clutch my pockets to make sure I still have my knife, and I quickly wipe away the water that has formed on my forehead. The wind moans and sighs.
I knew I shouldn't have left without my phone, but it was destiny. I needed this so bad. I remembered the wise words of my uncle Pete, "Be brave but show mercy whenever you can."
It was all because of those tragic mistakes... and in my mind, I'm somewhere between existence and insanity. I shake off the bad thoughts again... I need to move on and get out of this dense forest before I get killed.
A roar in the distance stabs my eardrums, "Listen here.... I don't need nothin' but revenge." The maniac is hell-bent on killing me - and I need to act quick. I look around nervously, and around a downed cypress I see a huge tree with a hollow part in it - but I know this would be too obvious... I look down again at the cypress, and I suddenly get an idea. I slowly crawl towards it... and look underneath the huge trunk - to my astonishment there is a large hollow in there. I quietly and quickly kneel down and lay down inside the whole, my heart pounding like a kettledrum.
I hear the maniac's footsteps coming nearby. He says in a strange voice, "That is one unusual cowgirl. That's one bizarre *****. I knew she was up to no good. Where the heck are you Tyrone! I'm going to kill you bastard!"
I close my eyes... and pretend I'm stuck in a titanium cubicle underground. In my head I think to myself "I'm gonna climb those walls you've built. I'm going to clean up this mess." I know how I got here, and I know what I need to do. "
I hear the huge maniac walk slowly by and my heart stops. I hear his heavy, rough breathing. Then I feel him kick the tree trunk and my heart pounds so hard I think it will explode. The next few seconds feel like eternity...
The maniac then walks on. In my mind I suddenly realize I need to be brave, to be somewhat rash. I think for a while. Then I suddenly hear lightning and the sky stars unloading heavy rain with an intensity and abruptness I thought impossible. I slowly get out of the trunk, because I know the sound of the rain will shut out the sound of my movements. I stand up slowly and notice the maniac walking away madly. I then grope at my pocket and take out my switchblade. I waste no more time. I start to walk quickly in the pounding rain, towards the maniac. I use the trees as cover as I get closer.
Eventually I reach within a few steps of his back, and I then quickly wrap my left arm around his neck and pull back, while using my right arm to plunge the blade into the maniac's chest. He violently swings at me, but I've already delivered the fatal blow. In a few seconds the maniac falls down.
I am dazed and exhausted, and I stumble a few steps forward.
I think to myself, "I need to move, I need to learn, I need to try harder."
I walk through the forest slowly, and I see a beautiful, lovely young woman wearing a dress made of leaves. Oh my gosh.... There really is such a thing as love at first sight."
I try to say something but all I can get out is, "Wow." The lovely woman looks at me with a wistful and subtle smile, and beckons to me. From that moment on, I knew that my yearning will not go away. I walk towards her and hold her hand, and we walk together into the depths of the forest.
