It's really simple, just put Nash in football pads, to avoid the flagrant attacks. Then figure out where the shots are going to be coming from that night. The problem with playing the Spurs is that they are not a one or two tool team like most of the teams the Suns play. When you shut down Manu and Tony Parker, Duncan gets 28 points and Findlay lays in 21 from the 3 point line. If your shut down the old men the fast guys are running through the lanes and Manu has 30 points in no time. You just never know where the points are going to come from. When you have Tony Parker as last year's finals MVP and Duncan with 3 MVP trophys sitting on the mantle, you expect the points to come from there. The Jazz certainly didn't expect Manu to hit 37 points, most of which came in the second half. The Spurs are the most boring team in the NBA for a very good reason... they play as a team, and give the ball to the open man. There is no Kobe or LeBron showboating for the crowd, just good fundamental basketball. It's the reason they are the #1 team in the west right now, and the most likely team to be in the finals at this point.

Phoenix needs to play their game, and impose its tempo on San Antonio. They are a really disciplined team, so any kind of advantage that the Suns get in transition they need to take, they need to create fast breaks. Plus there's the fact that the Spurs are old, which could give the Suns an advantage down the stretch.
The usual suspects need to be stopped; Tim Duncan will probably be back by the time this game rolls around, and Ginobili and Parker have been playing out of this world lately.
The last thing the Suns can afford is to let the Spurs get into their heads. Emotions are probably going to run high in this game as it usually does between these teams, especially with Bruce Bowen, Robert Horry, and Raja Bell involved, so it may come down to whoever doesn't lose their cool.
If you ask me, a healthy dose of zone would work against Tim Duncan down low and close some of Ginobili and Parker's driving lanes. But, of course, they'll have to watch out for Brent Barry and Michael Finley. But if I were D'Antoni I'd rather let the Spurs beat me with the outside shot, rather than let Parker and Ginobili get to the free throw line.
I think if the Suns can do all of this (no small thing to do) they'll get the win.

Hope that Duncan, Ginobli, and Parker get hurt, which I doubt will happen. Duncan's been injured but Ginobly has stepped it up due to his absence. The Suns don't play enough defense to stop the Spurs in fact they lost their best post defender in Kurt Thomas by sending him to Seattle. If the Suns want to run so can the Spurs. The Spurs are a team that the Suns just don't match up well against. They also would need to have Nash not have the ball as much because he turns the ball over way too much.

Keep amare out of foul trouble. Timmy usually sends him to the bench because amare can't guard tim duncan (the suns let go of the only guy that could, kurt thomas). Yes the spurs are old, but then again, nash and grant hill aren't getting any younger, and when you play that style every night it will wear you out faster in the long run. The do have a chance of winning but just gotta play their cards right. Bowen will pressure nash as usual, duncan will unload on amare or whoever they have guarding him. The suns transition game will need to be in full force to be able to stop the spurs. But then again, the spurs are one of the best defensive teams, and surprisingly they are the highest scoring team in the league as of right now. Ginobili and Parker have been lighting up teams as of late and that doesn't seem like its gonna stop anytime soon, just pray duncan has an off night and the suns might have a chance to pull out the win. ohh yea im a spurs fan btw, but I like the suns as well, their a great team.

They need to change their style of play. Few years ago when D'Antoni assumed the head coaching position the reason he had the Suns do that run 'n gun style that had the majority of the teams stummped. That's why they won I believe it was 67 games that season. No one had really seen that style since the 70's and 80's. Since then teams have figured it out, and my problem with my Suns is they need to play more defense, while still doing their run 'n gun. Guess I can't have both huh? jk.
Suns have always stuggled against the two top Texas teams (Mav's and Spurs) during the regular season and post season over the last couple years. They just know how to outplay the Suns and beat them at their own game. Suns need to knuckle down on Duncan, Parker, and Ginobli.

As a Phoenix fan this is easy. First AMARI MUST STAY OUT OF FOUL TROUBLE. Also he must rebound, along with Shawn Marion, and G Hill especially on the defensive boards. Nash should switch up sometimes and be a more aggressive scorer, because sometimes it seems like the Spurs are just sitting back watching their man, and ignoring Nash shooting possibilities and over guarding passing lanes, and he gets stuck. Marion, G Hill, and Boris Diaw (God man!! Stop passing so much and shoot open shots!!!), need to score and also look for their shots. Barboso will be fine just as a team fewest turnovers possible. On defense, double team Tim Duncan, randomly to confuse the Spurs, force Ginoblli to drive and either block the shot, set up for block or GET OUT OF THE WAY, avoid the foul, run out of bounds to pass in for the fast break. Don't let Tony Parker kill you, use Raja Bell vs. him and Nash on Ginobilli, an help him out. Beware of 3 pointers from Bown, Horry, and Ginobilli, after the miss, rebound and run, then AMARI STAY OUT OF FOUL TROUBLE, and Run some more. The Spurs are older gentlemen like myself, and trust me we may front, but if you young men continually run, except for Bruce Bowen, every other older guy will eventually wilt. We know it too (just great at frontin')

UUHHH, HOW ABOUT PLAY SOME DEFENSE? Stop trying to outscore them and settling for 3 pointers all the time. The spurs are a great defensive team and they know how to rotate without leaving someone open to shoot 3's. The only chance for Phoenix is to stop Tony Parker and Ginobili from penetrating the lane and let Tim Duncan get his points.

1. Attack Duncan on defense so he gets in early foul trouble.
2. Get Amare out of foul trouble.
3. Continue to push the ball up the court.
4. Avoid Parker to drive to the basket.
5. Play better defense.
6. Show mental toughness and have some ability to win close games.

simple. put kurt thomas on duncan and hope he can keep duncan below 35 pts. that would also prevent amare from picking up alot of early fouls.
oh wait... kurt thomas is no longer with the suns, right?
never mind then.
